End of the book

End of the book

What observations can you make about the writers style?

Well, the author is amazing with detail describing every event down to the nub. Also, he is very good at giving the story emotion, making you glad when the characters escape the deadly situation they were in or making you feel depressed when one of the best characters died.

What literary techniques did you find int resting or noteworthy? Why?

One of the most unusual and interesting ones is an example of an epiphany with the main characters. After one of the side main characters kills the main characters, Brian, the main character, goes up to the character and shoots him. He killed his own friend and he hasn't even tried to harm a walking corpse. At that moment he kinda lost it like an epiphany.

Did anything remind you of any other events in stories, historic events, or an event from your own life? Explain.

This story reminded me of any other zombie book. It mainly reminds me of the TV show just because of how it was the back story of one of the most evil characters in the walking dead universe. It was interesting to find out how he went crazy.

Give your reaction to the book.

I loved the book! It really has been the first book that i could pick up and read continuously and not put it down. It was an amazing book, not only just to read, but to learn about one of the best and most evil characters in the story.

Evaluate the book.
This book was packed with action, drama, and death which made it a hard book to put down. Having these aspects made me go crawling back to the book over doing some of my favorite hobbies. The funny part is i don't really like reading, but who can't benefit from a book that you love?
Recommend the book.

This book is for anyone  who like science-fiction and i recommend it. It was an amazing book that i can't stress how much of a good read it was. If you are doing a book report, i highly recommend it to people who love zombies.

2/3 of the book

The Second Third of the Book!!!

Major Events so far in the book?

So far, quite a few things have happened. One of the main characters died. His name was Bobby Marsh and while Taking a breath leaning on a dog house because a zombie attack that just occurred, one of the missing family members from the house they were staying in popped out and attached to his leg. Sadly it was a walker and took a chomp out of bobby's Thigh. By the time they got to him, it was too late. He was bleeding out on the lawn and no one could save him from death or the zombie bite. They put a bullet in his head and buried him in the garden. Another major event that happens was that they went into Atlanta and found it was infested with zombies so they took cover in a local apartment with a family called the Chalmers which was a nice family of three. A father and two daughters which were both in there twenty's. The father, David, had lung cancer and needed oxygen tanks to assist his breathing. He sadly died when he ran out and Phillip Blake had to kill the zombified corpse that tried to get Tara, his daughter. After kicking them out, they needed to get out of the city. They got chased by a mob of zombies until they hit a motorcycle shop at which they decided to leave the city. They suited up and jumped on the motorcycles. half way out a half of a zombie latches onto Phillip and Penny Blake's bike. At the exit penny notices and freaks out and the zombie goes in for a chomp. Luckily, Phillip hears and takes a metal sphere that he grabbed Pearlie and skewers it into the zombies brain keeping them safe for a while. And that ends the second third

Symbols in the story?

Well i believe the zombies and survivors are really the only major symbols in this story although there are minor symbols. I thinks zombies are supposed to symbolize that the world has been destroyed and that there is an apocalyptic event occurring that won't just go away. The survivors, however, represent what i believe to be a light at the end of the tunnel. They are a hope for humanity, they are the worlds fighting chance. Some others are smaller. Like the bandits, they represent what i think is that even in times of need or hurt, people will still be cold, hurtful, and ruthless.

Themes in the story?

This book is loaded! From courage to fear, the story is driven on theme. It gives the story an atmosphere that may give the reader, in this case, me, a chill down the spine, make them sit on the edge of there seat, make them want to read the book. I know this happened to me. For example, one of the themes in this story is survival. It has lots of these aspects. An example of this is collecting supplies. They have to because no one is supplying them with weapons, they have to fend for them selves, keeping them selves fed, watered, and defended. What is this all wrapped into one? Survival. Another example in the story is of one of the main character's decisions. Nick had to chose between betraying his best friend or feeling guilt for what he was not doing. In this case, he betrayed his best friend and killed him because he was slaughtering random people and feeding it to his zombified daughter. He did it to stop the horendous events occurring.

1/3 of the Book

The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor

By: Robert Kirkman & Jay Bonansinga

Why did you choose this particular book?

I decided to read this particular book because of the amazing comics and the awesome TV show based on the Zombie Apocalypse. The main reason though is that the governor is one of the biggest evil characters on the show. his back story and why he is crazy is supposed to be described in this so i read the first third and it seems like it does describe a lot about the book.

Your first impressions of the story?

Well i thought this book would be a real bummer but after reading the the first third it is amazing. Within the first third there already been thrills, deaths, and a lot of fighting. Within the first three pages there was already killing zombies and a bloody mess. However what makes this better is the fact that there is a character that has to protect a young girl named penny because he, aka Brian Blake, is a wuss and because of this he has to help penny. I think this book is a great read and i can't put it down!

A prediction of a future event in the story?

The characters want to head to Atlanta so this can go good or bad and since the bad has happened and won't stop, i can just assume it will get worse. Hordes of zombies, looters, no shelter, food, or water. I can assume that this may happen to the group in a big city during the zombie apocalypse.
